Preisträger 2024

Daniel Baggenstos (Australian Antarctic Division, Kingston, TAS, Australia)

To the as innovative as diligent experimentalist developing and applying new laser and mass spectrometric methods for ice core studies to obtain novel,
high-precision quantitative information on the atmospheric composition in the past. His work on noble gases and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere using air bubbles
enclosed in the ice made outstanding scientific contributions to the reconstruction of changes in the Earth planetary radiative imbalance and planetary heat content over the last up to 700'000 years.
To the always engaged mentor of early career scientists, the friendly and creative collaborator and the inspiring participant and leader in Antarctic expeditions,
who will be a new international leader in ice core sciences in the years to come.
